About us
Unfortunately, one in two of us will have cancer at some point in our lives. The Covid-19 pandemic has caused a massive cancer crisis which will take years to address. More and more people are being tested and diagnosed with more advanced stage cancers. An increase in cancer deaths is expected because of the delays in screening and treatments during the pandemic. The Mulberry Centre’s free counselling and other services provide support to people as they come to terms with their new situation, and our bereavement service is there to help support anyone who has lost a loved one.
“I was a mess before I came into the Centre. I could not think. I was emotional all the time. I felt I was thrown a lifeline. I knew it would help me understand my emotions. I did not expect to be laughing so much! I found the service extremely helpful. I love coming to the Mulberry Centre because it feels such a safe place to be and exudes calm and care.”
The Mulberry Centre is an award-winning cancer information and support centre and an independent charity, based on the grounds of the West Middlesex University Hospital in Isleworth, West London. Our mission is to provide support and information for people affected by cancer who live in west and southwest London, offering practical ways of enhancing physical, psychological, and emotional well-being.
We support anyone affected by cancer: people with a diagnosis, friends and family, carers and those bereaved. All the services are provided free of charge, and include: complementary and relaxation therapies, one-to-one support on a drop-in basis, counselling sessions and support groups, plus a wide range of workshops. The combination of information, support, self-management and relaxation tools help people feel in control; it helps them to make the right decisions to manage both the physical and mental trauma of a cancer diagnosis, treatment and recovery.
